My New Journal With You, Note 3

**Verses are inserted exactly where God had them placed in my new journal at the bottom of each page. I love how personal He is! ❤ **

Good afternoon, LORD. How are you doing? I pray You are blessed, happy, and enjoying a day that honors Your Son, Your Day of Rest, and how You both brought that all together through His death and resurrection. Thank You for being so willing, so loving, and so thoughtful. Thank You for being faithful to the unfaithful and faithless. ❤

I’m sitting here trying to do with Your day as You have for me. I know it’s first and foremost a day of rest, a day made for man, not a day You made us for. I am to remember it and keep it Holy. I am to follow Your example. How wonderful that You would make me in Your image, for Your pleasure. and put such an emphasis on me resting just like You did after You created our world. You are always thinking of me and looking out for my good. Help me not to make it complicated, but to wholly trust in Your sovereign and wise ways. You are so caring, my loving Father and God.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
– Ephesians 2:10 KJV

It’s actually kinda nice to have time to spend with You, what we call downtime. To just sit and enjoy You, Your day, Your time You prepared for me at the beginning of creation… to be able to sit at Your feet, and just bask in feeling Your love for me, and in the peace that Your love brings… a John 14:27 kind of peace… not as the world gives but that You and ONLY You give.

After all the chaos, fighting, protesting, selfishness, pride, ego, recklessness, lawlessness, and human filled behavior and events, I’m sure You could appreciate a rest too. Some just don’t seem to have the luxury of rest, and sadly many more refuse to even entertain the idea. We are so programmed that rest either means “work, work, work till you drop”, or “continue to think about no one else but yourself, and take the credit for everything while you’re at it.” I pray You help me to see YOU, YOU, YOU! ❤

“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
– Proverbs 13:20 KJV

I personally enjoy downtime with You. Whether it’s through sermons, music, movies, puzzle books, reading, a devotional, drawing, coloring, or simply sitting in awe of You in a quiet relaxing moment of doing absolutely nothing… Convalescing is what it reminds me of.

That was the word You gave me just before the year began. It was actually the command that You gave me back in November when I got so sick just a few days after my 2nd RFA (the one on my left side). How many times You have made it clear for me to keep my feet up, do absolutely nothing but rest, and spend quality time with You… allowing You to heal my body, my mind, and my spirit. And to encourage others to do the same. To convalesce. Thank You for healing and hope in “choosing that good thing that will not be taken from me and You.”

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
– Joshua 1:9 KJV

Charity’s Questions For Me:
I know the rules say 11 questions, but I was only given these 7.
As deep as they are, they are plenty!

1. We all have goals in life but what is the one true desire you have for your life?
To please You, my Lord, my God! My Heavenly Father! To let everyone know how much I love You! And how much You love them!

2. Are you of the belief that children under a certain age will be Heaven? Why or why not?
“Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
– Matthew 19:13-14 KJV

“And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
– Mark 10:13-15 KJV

“And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
– Luke 18:15-17 KJV

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
– Acts 2:38-39 KJV

God, Your word settles the matter and answers the question. You created the heavens and the earth, and the new earth that we are promised when the current earth we live on is destroyed. Only You are able to say who can and cannot come in. You states 3 different times in the gospel that the children are of the kingdom of heaven/God. And You follows with warning adults that if we do not come to You as little children that we will not enter in ourselves.
People tend to either be critical of children and what they think of as a “lack of wisdom/maturity” or be doubtful of children being old enough to have earned Your love through finding salvation. We must remember that salvation is NOT OF OURSELVES, it of the You, our Lord Jesus Christ.  You say they are of the kingdom of heaven/God.

3. What is your go to Bible verse you when struggles abound?
Oh, Dear Lord. There are so many verses. You are faithful to Your word that if we hide Your word in our hearts, that what we need when we need it will come to us because it will be You giving it to us. The Holy Spirit will guide us and teach us. The ones that come to mind at the moment are John 14:27 (because YOUR peace is like nothing else) and John 14:18 (because if there is anyone I can count on to be there when I need them or just because, it is 100 % YOU)!! The whole book of John is like a highlighted section of Your love letter that we call the bible. ❤

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
– John 14:27 KJV

” I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” – John 14:18 KJV

4. Do you feel a revival coming, not to the US but to other parts of the world?
I pray it is! We could sure use one! We ALWAYS benefit from them.

5. What song lifts your spirits the most when you are down?
This questions reminds me, Lord, of the blog You’ve been whispering for me to do regarding the music You’ve given me so far for the new year/new decade. When I get it done (By Your grace and with Your help), I will link it here (with Your help to remember to link it 😉 ). I know 2 of those songs are Grace Got You by Mercy Me and Let It Rain by Crowder.

I cannot keep from smiling, taping my finders and toes, and singing along. Especially Grace Got You. It reminds me of when others use to ask, “Do you EVER stopping smiling!” Some asked in open disgust, saying it wasn’t normal. That if I knew suffering I wouldn’t smile. I guess they would be thrilled to see me struggling to smile. THAT disgusts me… not them and their sad attitude… but my struggle to smile! Because I KNOW You are worthy of every smile! With songs like these, You give my spirit such a boost!

But I also have to say, Lord, that I don’t always have a computer, radio, or any way to play these songs. And when my spirit is extremely heavy,  I feel too down to play music. Instead of being disappointed in me or throwing me away in anger, You allow the Holy Spirit to bring Your hymns to mind. Many times I am singing before I even realize it. My son, family and friends know if I start singing them without worrying about my cracking voice that I am in need of them, cling to them, and LOVE them. It Is Well is the one I seem to sing the most. Yet when I am singing it, I am not thinking of the gloom in the words, or the tragedy in the testimony of how the writer was inspired to write it. I truly think of as being with You! 🙂 That’s the gold of hymns! They sing Your Holy Word! And Your word does NOT return void!

6. Are you a front row pew sitter or a back row sitter?
I prefer to sit up front so I can hear better, see better, and not be distracted. 🙂
Unfortunately, Lord, You know I tend to sit in the back or at least somewhere that I can get up to go to the restroom without disturbing the service.

7. And lastly…just a random thought of mine while talking to one of the guys at work…
Why is it that Jesus got totally ticked off with the money changer, made a whip, overturned tables and ran everyone out, but yet was quiet with Caesar and on his way to Golgotha?
Jesus, in the turning the tables over You were upset with the people for setting up a market at the temple. They used the items needed for sacrifices and offerings as an excuse to make money for their own gain, often robbing each other. In Your word You referred to it as turning God’s house of prayer into a den of thieves. You were exercising what the bible calls righteous anger. There are times we are to speak up loud and clear.

When You were before Caesar and on Your way to Golgotha, You were fulfilling God’s prophecy in being “silent as a lamb sent to the slaughter.” You were not there to fight as Judas, Peter, and many people wanted You to do. You were there to fight for my Salvation! You did it silently to carry my sins to the cross, and bear the burden of them for me. I am so grateful to You! You did not deserve them. But You were not thinking of Yourself. You were thinking of me! ❤

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
– John 15:13 KJV

3 Day Quote Challenge 4.27.18 Day 3

Well, Dear Lord, here we are on the last day of the quote challenge… that means this is Day 3 of the 3 Day Quote Challenge that Jessy of FAB: Faith and Books nominated me for.
Bless her, Lord, for her kindness.

The rules for this challenge are:

♣ Thank the person who nominated you.

Thank you, Jessy! Its been a blessing!

Post a quote for 3 days, and explain why it appeals to you.

♣ Nominate 3 bloggers each day!

Here was Day 1 (John 3:16)
Here was Day 2 (John 14:1-6)
Now here is Day 3 (John 14:27)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
– John 14:27 KJV

If you read the quote from Day 2 (John 14:1-6), you can see how this verse almost seems to say the same because of the terminology “Let not your heart be troubled,” and you will better understand what I mean as I explain why Day 3 is a life verse for me.
I have been taught and/or believed so many things in my life that when Jesus offered  a peace like nothing else, promised like no one else, my soul was ready for such love! ❤
Everyone always wants to use my fears, my emotions, my compassion, and anything else they can to try to get whatever they want from me, even if they have to resort to false guilt. Jesus wants to give me peace! Not as the world gives it…. with strings attached. Jesus wants to give me His peace. A peace that wants my heart to be trouble free and unafraid! No one ever cared for me like Jesus! ❤

Nominations for Day 3
Reema’s Garden
The Godly Chic Diaries
Leila Grandemange

Anyone who wants to do the quotes, just tag yourself.
Feel free to say I nominated you… because I just did! 😉

Hope you each have a little fun doing your quotes.
I look forward to seeing what inspires you,
and what you like to inspire others with!
God loves you!

A Season of Distress and Grief

Lord, how simply marvelous, wonderful, and loving You are to me. Despite that I am so undeserving of You, You think nothing but good OF me! You think nothing but good FOR me! You think of me, even when I am so easy to be so distracted with the stresses and cares of my life and easily forget You are there for me.

Last night I was so distressed about so many things that I could not sleep. I was so grieved that I was distressed that it exhausted me. I was making sure to play the 3 songs You have been ministering to me with when I have been in prayer over these things:

  1. Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken by Indelible Grace
  2. Oh My Soul by Casting Crowns
  3. Fear Is a Liar by Zach Williams

Eventually I fell asleep at the computer in the middle of doing the This or That Tag. When I noticed I had, I put everything aside and went off to lay in Your arms, in Your sweet rest. There would be an early morning appointment on the way before long.

“For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.”
– Job 33:14-17 KJV

Sure enough, the morning came along to stir me. Before I could even gather my senses, think on the day waiting on me, or really open my eyes I heard it! ❤

“In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!”
Sweet Hour of Prayer,
classic hymn lyrics by William Walford

This was the song You wanted in my heart! You whispered that this would be what I needed for the day that lay ahead. You brought to mind a couple of challenges You and I both knew I would be facing today, and that only You knew the ones I did not know would be waiting for me. I would need to be prepared. And these were the words You wanted me to think on. Not just to help me through what was on the way, but to praise You for being so personal, so specific, and and so loving before I could even fully join the day. It would be a reminder of how You heard each word, each distress, and knew what grieved my heart.

How sweet and intimate is the love of my God! ❤

The day has now came and went. And those challenges absolutely showed up. Fiery and fierce were the darts of the enemy. Just as You described them.

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” – Ephesians 6:15 KJV

Even now they weigh so heavy just to look upon. I would have been sorely wounded without Your warning. But just as faithful are the words and love of my Jesus! ❤

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
– John 14:27 KJV

Thank You, Father, for thinking lovingly on me. For whispering so clear what You knew I would need to hear. And for finishing my day with a sweet reminder from WordPress. 🙂

anniversary-2x

Sweet Hour of Prayer,
classic hymn lyrics by William Walford

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight:
This robe of flesh I’ll drop and rise
To seize the everlasting prize;
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”
