The Kind Love of God

gaillovesgodspoetry

You are kind to the unthankful,
And to the evil too.
That is a powerful statement,
But I’m glad it’s true.
How long I lived ungrateful,
Finding pleasure in the evil of filth.
I was completely unashamed,
And ignored the accompanying guilt.
Yet You were kind in Your mercy
To warn me of my path
Being so wicked and evil
That I would deserve Your wrath.
In love, to save my soul
You experienced great loss
When Your only Son
Stretched out His arms on the cross.
Thank you, Luke 6:35,
For pointing out His grace.
Had it not been for His kindness,
I would not be in a better place.
Thank You, Jesus, for telling us
More about our Father God above.
The Judge who waits to justify
Is so filled with love.

The Gift of Forgetting

gaillovesgodspoetry

The gift of forgetting.
Only You could provide such mercy.
Such grace.
Such love.
Only You could understand
The kindness of that gift.
Only You could understand the contents
And the package
Holding on
Until that sweet release of
“NO MORE.”
Thank You for the many gifts
You save me from,
Release me from,
Protect me from,
Including myself,
Especially myself.
Thank You for renewing my mind…
Daily.
Thank You for hiding You
In my heart.
No matter what comes or goes,
I have given myself to You forever!
I’m Yours!

Worthy of Unconditional Trust

gaillovesgodspoetry

You lift my weary hands
That they might praise Your name.
My self condemning tongue
Is Yours to tame.
The love, the care, the unending mercy
All glorify who You are.
Your long suffering grace
Is never too far.
The sacrifice of giving Your Son.
The plan to set us free.
The giving of His life on the cross
To allow ours to be.
The reconciliation wrought for us.
The restoration plan.
The salvation of a world
On the shoulders of one Man.
Worthy of praise
And unconditional trust.
I love You, Father!
I love You, Jesus!

The Barnabas Award 10.21.19

Dear Lord! How Your love pours and pours… all over this blog (YOUR blog)… all over me… and all over those You use to bless me… and those You will allow me to bless in sharing! How do I begin to thank You for The Barnabas Award!

In the King James Version (KJV) of Your Holy Bible it means son of consolation,
“And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,”
– Acts 4:36 KJV

and in the New International Version (NIV) it means son of encouragement.
“Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”)”
– Acts 4:36 NIV

To be an encourager or a consoler for You… to bring someone cheer or comfort… with Your love… is a humbling privilege… an opportunity only You can give. Thank You for whispering my name to our dear Janet of My Father’s Symphony to nominate me for The Barnabas Award. . This sweet encourager has encouraged me! And through Your whispers to me will continue to comfort and cheer others. Praise Your Holy Name! The One True Comforter and The One True Encourager!

Thank You, Janet, for the kind nomination. Your blog, your precious family, and your strong love in the Lord is an encouragement to me. I love reading what God is doing for you! May the Lord continue to bless your blog and your family! Me and God love you! ❤Barnabas AwardYou have been chosen for this recognition because of the encouragement and inspiration you bring to your readers.

The way this works:

Thank the person who nominated you, and share their blog.

Think of five bloggers that encourage and inspire you and nominate them.

List five things about yourself.

Lastly, ask your nominees five questions. Why five? Because is the number that signifies grace.

Nominees:
Just 5, Lord??? How do I narrow down literally hundreds of souls who encourage me and console me, and many others each day here on WordPress?? If 5 is the number of grace, then 5 x 5 will share so much more of Your grace! Yes, that is 25! I pray for those who will NOT see their names, that You would help them to know what a tremendous encouragement/consolation they are to me and so many others!

The Hope of Eternal Life

“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
– Titus 3:3-7 KJV

I am so sad to say that the first part so describes how I use to live, be, believe, and think like. Why You thought I was worth the effort, I have no idea, but I am so grateful that Your kindness and Your love appeared, and that Your mercy saved me, that the Holy Ghost has renewed me abundantly through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Thank You for making me justified by Your grace! Thank You for making me a part of Your family! ❤ I am a child of the King! 🙂 Forever and eternally!
I have the hope of eternal life! ❤

Our Long Journey

What a long journey of mercy
You have walked me through.
What a long journey of grace
to have been blessed with You.
So many memories flood in,
I am overwhelmed with words.
You have seen me through
so many misery and hurts.
Yet nothing on my journeying
has compared to learning of You,
and Your wondrous love
shown in everything You do.
Those memories are Yours and mine.
Those treasures are all ours.
You have poured out Your blessings.
I’ve loved bathing in the showers.

Gifts 2017 #6 Patience

Christmas Countdown: Patience is a GIFT: If anyone knows patience, it is the Lord. He is patient with me, despite repeated disappointment. If anyone can give patience, it is the Lord. By his grace, I can do all things through Christ! He doesn’t give up on me which helps me not to give up. Praise his Holy and Patient name! ❤

My God (He Understands)

He’s gentle and kind,
loving and understanding.
He’s never too scornful,
nor too demanding.
He understands the pain
I feel when I’m hurt.
He knows that I’m human
and am made from dirt.
He knows I’m a sinner
and do the evil things,
but He knows I’m a believer
in all that He brings.
——
He doesn’t expect miracles
when I’m down on myself.
He doesn’t disown me
when I know I need help.
He doesn’t defriend me
when I abuse His love for me.
He doesn’t try to push me
when I’m too scared to see.
Instead, He is there
to show me He cares
and that my heartache and pain
are my feelings He shares.
—–
He gives me His word
and provides it with blood
to say that it’s as worthy
as it was of the flood.
He hears me in prayer
and accepts my apology,
doesn’t betray me
or says He forgot me,
takes my hand and
leads me to light,
holds me and comforts me
to help me through the night.
—–
And when I am scared
or feeling alone,
He doesn’t abandon me
to face it on my own.
Instead, He is there
to say, “I’m here,”
to comfort my soul
and dry my tear.
He won’t be ashamed
or laugh at my fear.
He’ll erase all the clouds
and make everything clear.
He won’t be angered
to see me in doubt.
He won’t deny me
or throw me out.
Instead, He’ll always love me
and lead me by the hand
because He’s waiting to take me home
and tell me why He understands.

Great and Mighty

Great and mighty is the Lord our God.
Worthy and honorable is the great JAH.
Our tongues and voices should never cease
to praise the God of eternal peace.
He created our bodies and souls.
He created the world which He controls.
He gives us mercy and shares grace.
He sent His only Son to save.
He resurrected His precious Son
to send to us the Holy One.
The Holy Ghost comforts us,
all because of the blood of Jesus.
How great God is to share so much
and all because of perfect love.
Sing ye people, sing of earth!
Sing of God and His mighty worth!
