Day 3 of 47 for Lent Plan

GOD, I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING THE BIBLE READING PLAN YOU HAVE BEEN WALKING ME THROUGH. I’M SORRY TO BE SO LATE GETTING THEM ON, BUT WITH YOUR HELP WE’LL GET THEM ON LITTLE BY LITTLE.
NO RUSH. JUST CONVALESCING WITH YOU, AND FOLLOWING YOUR LEAD IN SHARING WITH OTHERS.
YOUVERSION (A BIBLE APP YOU HAVE BLESSED ME WITH)
IS DOING A PLAN CALLED LENT: REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF JESUS.

Day 3 of 47 for Lent Plan – “The Baptism of Jesus”
Reading: Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, John 1:19-34 KJV

Further Study

  • Why do you think John didn’t want to baptize Jesus?
    – He didn’t feel worthy to baptize the Messiah.
  • Why did Jesus insist that John baptize Him?
    – To fulfill the scripture/prophecy
    – To obey
  • What descended upon Jesus after He came out of the water? What did “it” look like?
    – The Spirit of God descended upon Jesus after He came out of the water in the form of a dove.

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
    – Faithful
  • Prayer: Pray for your extended family members.
    – Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts, Great Uncles, nieces, nephews, in laws, fosters, adopted, step, family friends (friends who are family to us), church family
  • Remembrance: Think about your baptism experience. What was that day like for you? (If you have not taken that next step, consider doing it soon!?
    – Lord, You know I was baptized twice. Once as a child (8 yrs old), and the other in 1994 (25 yrs old). At 8 I was scared because I was afraid of drowning. At 25 I was completely in another world at the time because I couldn’t stop comparing to the Satanic culture and practices going on in our area, including murder.
I literally felt like I was being sacrificed in Your blood instead of being baptized in water. When I arose I felt like I was literally covered by Your blood. It strangely felt empowering, and Holy, and Special, like I had gained knowledge the world didn’t understand, that same knowledge that was trying to convince my mind that what we just did was as sick as Satanic rituals, and kept telling me it was no different than my church mate who had recently been murdered/sacrificed.
But, Lord, You not only allowed me to learn her death was not quite as reported, and to understand the huge difference in those sacrifices were literally as different as life and death. But the biggest difference is that Jesus didn’t ask to kill me. He didn’t ask nor demand to kill anyone. Instead He took my place while carrying the weight of my sins upon His cross. He did it because He loves me. You sent Him (Your only precious and begotten Son) because You love me too.
  • Self-Examination: Are there any strained or unhealthy relationships in your life where you need to make changes?

A Kind Act

  • Hold the door open for someone even if they don’t need you to.
    – Amy needed to see a patient who just had double hip surgery, and the doctor asked Amy to evaluate her with her specialized skills. Amy is extremely graced with Your gifts for her, Lord. I pray for Amy, that patient, and the doctor, and all of Amy’s patients.

Day 27 of 47 for Lent Plan

God, I have been enjoying the bible reading plan You have been walking me through. I’m sorry to be so late getting them on, but with Your help we’ll get them on little by little.
No rush. Just convalescing with You, and following Your lead in sharing with others.
YouVersion (a bible app You have blessed me with)
is doing a plan called 40 Days of Lent.

Day 27 of 47 for Lent Plan – “Parable: Lost Sheep and Lost Coin
Reading: Luke 15:1-10 KJV

Further Study

  • Who was gathered around listening to Jesus?
    – Sinners and the Pharisees
  • What was the significance of searching for the lost sheep and coin?
    – God pursues! He loves us enough to come save us from ourselves and all that aims to hurt us.

Reflect

  • Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
    – Persistent. Thank You, God, for loving me enough to pursue me! ❤
  • Prayer: Pray for your church leaders and your neighbors.
    – Yea, Lord. Amen.
  • Remembrance: Think about a time you felt lost. Looking back, do you see how God was pursuing you? Write about that.
    – Many times. You are so faithful to pursue! ❤
  • Self-Examination: Do you have a friend in your life who feels lost? What can you do to impact his/her life for the better?
    – Bobby! (My stepdad) You can see it in his eyes, Lord. I think even he finally understands this virus now. Protect him, Lord. Help me to do what You want of me for him. Thank You for allowing us to read through Your word! ❤

A Kind Act

  • Put your phone away during mealtime or a conversation.

Oh Taste and See

gaillovesgodspoetry

Rain trickles down the window pane.
The glass reveals the storm.
The misty clouds drop their blessings
Where the dry ground began to form.
The flowers tilt underneath the weight
Of the life giving moisture,
Yet when the rays of life return
They will regain their posture.
Birds are hidden away for shelter,
Some tucked underneath their set of wings.
Their bird baths are being generously filled,
And soon they will again sing.
The children run and play in the puddles,
And tilt their heads back to taste and see
Oh how good and faithful
The Lord is to you and me.

Your Love of Grit

gaillovesgodspoetry

So much of Your love flows through my veins.
It medicates the physical pains.
It seeps so deep and penetrates my mind.
Solace and peace are treasures I find.
For in each comfort I find You…
Faithfully walking and carrying me through.
Your attentive love astounds me.
Your faithful pursuit grounds me.
How great a love that faithfully loves me,
Cares so much, and thinks so much of me.
Thank You for being that love of grit
That lights my lamp and keeps my path lit.
Praise You, God, for all that You are.
Thank You for never being too far.

My Declaration For You, Jesus!

Lord, There are times I feel so overwhelmed,
but only know to pray and hang on!
Doesn’t it always seem to be such a battle most when one is fasting?
I’m not sure if Satan is fighting so hard,
or if You are trying and growing my faith,
both, or what?
But I will declare now to Satan and and the whole world…..

I LOVE MY GOD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST NO MATTER WHAT!!
I MAY FAIL HIM, BUT HE HAS NEVER FAILED ME!
I MAY BE IMPERFECT, BUT GOD IS ALWAYS PERFECT!
AND THOUGH I MAY FAIL TO HAVE A PERFECT TESTIMONY
OF BEING CONTENT IN MY PRESENT SITUATION,
I AM CONTENT THAT MY GOD LOVES ME EVEN NOW!!!
HIS WAYS ARE PERFECT
EVEN WHEN I HAVE NO CLUE OF WHY THINGS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE!!
AND WITH GOD’S STRENGTH,
I WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TELLING EVERYONE POSSIBLE…
GOD LOVES YOU!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, Jesus!

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving, Jesus! ❤
I am so thankful that You can see how
incredibly and passionately grateful I am in my heart,
even when it goes unsaid.
You deserve a Shout of Praise!!
PRAISE YOUR HOLY AND FAITHFUL NAME! ❤
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. 🙂
Praying you find reasons to shout a praise to Jesus as well! 🙂
God loves you! ❤

Love That Loves

gaillovesgodspoetry

A love that loves the way love loves
Is the love I have with You.
There are no more guessing games.
Your love is pure and true.
The world keeps searching,
And telling what they require.
But You and You alone
Are all I ever desire.
Earthly love is filled with disappointment
And promises to be broken.
Som many love languages
Only leaves love unspoken.
But every vow of love
I hear You speak
Is witnessed when
You share strength with the weak.
You’re love forever.
I stay with You.
No other love
Could ever do!

That I Might Stay True

Lord, as I read of your people
and hear their many struggles of obeying,
I want to avoid jumping to judging,
and sincerely begin praying.
Please help me to keep my eyes,
mind, heart, soul, and all on You.
Help me to never take Your glory,
even if I didn’t mean to.
Keep me faithful, pure, and just,
that my holiness glorifies You.
Help me to resist society
that I might stay true.
Finally, Lord, I pray You stay
and never have reason to turn.
I really don’t want any more
ungodly lessons to learn.
