I Miss My Lovely A!

Lord, I am missing one of my dear friends today… 😦
a friend that I was so blessed to receive from You… ❤
My Lovely A… Miss Lovely… and Lovely Anita
is the author of Discovering Your Happiness.discovering you happiness logoToday was her birthday.

I miss being able to share awards and tags, reading each other’s blogs to find You were whispering the same exact message, or sometimes complimenting one another’s differences.

Some of those she created… like

The Inside My Head Tag the-inside-my-head-tag

and the This OR That Tagthis-or-that-tag

She is a blessing that You brought to me at a time I literally believed I was just faithfully living out my last days in quiet. You used her Self Care Challenge to motivate me so much that in taking part in it (21 Day Self Care Challenge) I found a friend who faithfully encouraged me, supported me, and cheered me on through good and bad days.

She taught me how to do tagging, pingbacks, notifications, collage pictures, and so much more. She was the first one to nominate me for an award, and my how generous she was with those awards and tags. She knew I loved using them to praise You, and to share with others. I loved her cheerful giving! 🙂

I miss keeping up with her days at work, her adventures with her bestie, the upcoming wedding of her sister, and watching her love for the You grow so beautifully. I remember her favorite song at the time was From the Inside Out.

I pray she is having a blessed day, a wonderfully memorable birthday, and a flourishing relationship with You. I pray that You are giving her victory after victory over her anxiety, and that You have showered her with love, strength, mercy, and grace, on those days anxiety seemed to be stronger. It may have disguised her strength as weakness, but it has NEVER been stronger than the God who gives her strength, and assures her that His strength is made perfect in her weakness, and that she can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens her! May she know You have NEVER left her, and that You will always love her… cherish her… treasure her!Happy Bday, Lovely A 2019Wherever she is today, Lord, shower her with many voices telling her Happy Birthday for me! As long as she knows it’s really love from You, that is all that matters. And should she hear You whispering deep inside… let her know she is dearly loved and missed! ❤

Walking the Walk, #5 Slow Walk

Dear Lord, how behind I am on blogging so many things You have blessed me with! Like the day back in August when You allowed me to go back to the Arboretum for a new walk. You allowed me to discover this place back in Walking the Walk, #4 Smell Walk and it immediately had became a favorite spot! I meant to blog about it to keep doing the challenge our Lovely A of Discovering Your Happiness had created in her Walking the Walking challenge back in December of last year to do 50 walks.

I know You remember our lovely Anita who always signs…

Wherever you are in the world, have a lovely day

So while You are giving me the chance, I want to thank You for allowing me to get that next walk in!

#5 Slow walk – Go as slowly as you can manage. Pay attention to your five senses as you walk to the end of of the block and back. Note what you’ve noticed for the first time.

Walking the Walk, # 5 Slow Walk was so beautiful even if it was so rainy and had a very challenging end. You were so worth it!

There were such beautiful flowers inside and out! This was a great surprise as You know last time it was winter brown. I called it an earthy wonderland, and was just as breathtaking then. But You certainly decorated my walk with a little color this time.

There was an awesome quilt pattern for a garden!
I would love to be a part of doing one! 🙂Arb2.25

I was blessed to come across this little fish swimming in a fountain.Arb2.23

Then more flowers to decorate my path.

Then there was the Fragrance Garden.. in a fountain! 🙂
These fountains have me thinking on your word:
“For with thee is the fountain of life:
in thy light shall we see light.” – Psalm 36:9 KJV

The rain started picking up, so I went for shelter. As I stood under the roof, I noticed I was still getting wet. I looked up and saw wood beams, and a very cloudy sky… oh and a flag pole that was very wisely barren for this rain soaked day. I went for better shelter.Arb2.12

I passed by the gift shop… nice pillows.

Then look over down into the lobby.

I see signs for a Plant Sale.

After checking out their plants for sale in the green house, I head on out to the parking lot. I cannot find the car and the rain is pouring. While it’s not a huge parking lot, it is on a couple of big hills, and I know I strategically parked near landmarks to remind me where the car is. Because of my health, I am unable to run in this rain… I am actually struggling to walk up and down the hills of the parking lot… and after circling twice I am so weak I feel like I could fall at any second. I am lost and soon become so disoriented I don’t even remember where or who I am for a few seconds. I am broken and scared, and having inner conversations with You.

I walk up the hills one one more time, as I keep recognizing the landmarks I know You wisely had me thinking on. Standing where I know I left the car in the rain that has not let up for one moment, but instead has only gotten heavier, I am leaning on You more than ever, just as scared that I am… Losing It… altogether.  And then RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES (LITERALLY)… I see I am standing RIGHT BESIDE IT!! I am so relieved, but as I get in the car wringing wet, I am horrified to think I could be getting worse.

You help me to think on the beautiful walk You have given me, along with the peaceful joy that You allowed me while walking on the beautiful journey with You this morning. It was a slow walk. It had to be with my health. But praise Your Holy name I can walk. You have allowed my doctors to help me do that much. You make me think on one of my favorite hymns of Yours…

In the Garden by Charles  A. Miles

I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

I’d stay in the garden with Him,
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

It has been worth it to have spent time with You! ❤

Thank You for spending the time with me! ❤

I love You, Jesus!! ❤

This or That Tag 4.24.18

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Yet here You have allowed Lovely Anita of Discovering Your Happiness to create another new tag… The “Would You Rather” Tag…  to quote her, “as a BOREDOM BUSTER!”the-would-you-rather-tagThe ‘Would You Rather’ Tag gives you two options to choose from

      – Unclouded Day, classic hymn
  • Would you rather have constantly dry eyes or a constant runny nose?
    • Neither. They’re both miserable.
  • Would you rather never be able to eat meat or never be able to eat vegetables?
    • I can do without meat.
  • Would you rather always be able to see 5 minutes into the future or always be able to see 100 years into the future?
    • I can see into an eternal future with my Jesus! And I yearn for it so! ❤
  • Would you rather be married to a 10 with a bad personality or a 6 with an amazing personality?
    • An amazing 6…. He’s in love with me and Jesus! ❤
  • Would you rather never be able to drink sodas like coke again or only be able to drink sodas and nothing else?
    • no soda
  • Would you rather have amazingly fast typing / texting speed or be able to read ridiculously fast?

Praise God for my favorite compute keys… delete and backspace! 😉
  • Would you rather sell all of your possessions or sell one of your organs?
    • All my possessions
  • Would you rather never have to work again or never have to sleep again (you won’t feel tired or suffer negative health effects)?
    • It is so tempting to say No Sleep! Boy, I could just live life to the fullest. But I am reminded of the Breathe Bible Study the Lord allowed me to do.
Breathe: Making Room for the Sabbath by Priscilla Shirer reminds that God created the sabbath for a purpose… not just for our health, but to allow to enter into that beautiful thing called… REST. Oh how wonderful the feeling of kicking up one’s feet and remember to Be still and know that He is God! ❤ Such sweet fellowship! ❤ He promises His people rest for a reason!

    • I’ll leave that one up to the Lord.

  • Would you rather have everything you eat be too salty or not salty enough no matter how much salt you add?
    • unsalty… my blood pressure will love me for it
  • Would you rather have unlimited sushi for life or unlimited tacos for life? (both are amazingly delicious and can be any type of sushi / taco you want)

    • both are so valuable
  • Would you rather give up bathing for a month or give up the internet for a month?

  • Would you rather be able to teleport anywhere or be able to read minds?
    • my lack of trust in others says read minds, but to be able to transport away from danger is much more helpful
  • Would you rather never use social media sites / apps again or never watch another movie or TV show?
    • no social media or apps. TV is too vital for local news and weather, and the Internet is too unreliable… the connection, the speed, and the information
  • Would you rather have an easy job working for someone else or work for yourself but work incredibly hard?
    • Work obediently and faithfully for my Lord
  • Would you rather be locked in a room that is constantly dark for a week or a room that is constantly bright for a week?

    • If I want to be able to breathe and not freeze to death, I better say the net!
  • Would you rather always be 10 minutes late or always be 20 minutes early?
    • early! Being late throws things off.
  • Would you rather your shirts be always two sizes too big or one size too small?
    • 2 Big! 😉 Baggy!
  • Would you rather live in the wilderness far from civilization or live on the streets of a city as a homeless person?
    • In the wilderness. John the Baptist, Moses, and Jesus thrived in the wilderness.

WHEW! I’m finally done! God bless you 10 times over if you have actually read this far along with me! Lord, help me to choose the ones who love and live for doing these. I want to be a blessing, not a burden!

I pray every quote, every word, every nomination, and every read brought glory to Your Holy Name… and will continue to do so. It’s Your blog. Do whatever You will with whatever You want. And do whatever You want with whatever You will!
It’s all for You!

And please bless our dearest and lovely Anita of Discovering Your Happiness for nominating me for this 3 Day Quote Challenge. Thank you, Miss Lovely! ❤

“Jesus died for you! What more do you want Him to do? – Die Again?”
(click here to read day 2)

3 Day Quote Challenge – Day 3:
(you are reading Day 3)

“He’s like the lightning in the sky each time I feel it near.
The beauty of its pretty color sinks beneath my fear.”

The Lord gave me this quote as a Life Quote for the poetry He has given me through a poem He allowed me to pen several years ago called Frozen Box, just as He has given me John 14:27 as a Life Verse from the Bible. It is posted as the tagline for my poetry blog gaillovesgodspoetry. It really sums up a lot about Me and God (my salvation testimony), as well as the long time struggle with My Fear of God. At the time I wrote it, I was young and just coming out of years of abuse, a lot of dysfunctional years for our family, a dysfunctional school, and was a single mom of the cutest little pair of arms that the Lord blessed me with. So of course my writing was still growing as mentioned in Me and Writing (my writing testimony).
The Lord has allowed me to grow so much, and my fear of Him as well. Recently, He has allowed me the grace to stand and face Him, to enjoy the magnificence of His majestic presence in the midst of a storm cloud, and different scenarios that would normally have me horrified. I am not standing as though to dare Him, nor defy Him, but by His sweet leading to look upon Him in awe! To know the peace and joy of knowing He is with me… for me… and strenghtening me… to trust Him more. It is because of John 14:27 that I can now stand and glory in His beauty in reverent fear.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
– Amazing Grace,
Stanza 2
hymn lyrics by John Newton

Nominees for Day 3:
Something to Stu Over
Matthew Winters (Comeback Pastor)
Inner Man Theatre

I close with a favorite song that declares,
“I’m no longer a slave to fear.

3 Day Quote Challenge – Day 2:
(You are reading Day 2)

“Jesus died for you!
What more do you want Him to do?
– Die Again?”

So often others are told of Your love for them to give Your ONLY begotten Son for us… to allow Him to suffer persecution, pain, agony, fear, betrayal, and to bear the weight of every burden of every sin in the world on His shoulders… all to save us from eternal death! And STILL! It’s not enough! That famous word that seems to be everyone’s favorite excuse…. BUT!
But…. He doesn’t understand.
But… He’s never suffered like I have.
But… He’s never been sick.
But… He’s God’s Son.
But… He’s perfect, I’m not.
But… He doesn’t have family and friends to worry about.
But… He knows He’s going to heaven.
But… He’s never been afraid.
But… He’s never lost anyone to death.
But… He’s never had to face the public.
But… He’s never had parents.
But… He’s never had siblings.
But… He never had to go to school.
But… He’s never had to go to church (under someone else’s authority.)
But… He’s never had to worry about the law.
But… He’s never had to obey.
But… He’s got angels looking out for Him.

These may sound so made up or completely ridiculous, but I have heard them all and more. When people don’t know who Jesus is, or don’t know Him personally, or go on only what they have heard or learned, they will believe anything, or NOT believe anything. I use to believe some of these myself. But until we read Your Holy Word for ourselves, we just do not know who You are Lord, or what Your Son suffered.

We just don’t know of the agony and fear that gripped Him so tightly 3 different times in the garden. We don’t realize that while He was God in the flesh… that He WAS… IN THE FLESH… meaning He willing took on the pain and agony that the human body experiences… the weak and tempted mind that Satan tried to manipulate in the desert… the lonely and homesick spirit that longed for home and the heavenly Host that worshiped everything Holy about His Father… the obedient child who submitted to His earthly parents to set a Godly example… the Jewish boy, youth, and man who was subjected to the same Pharisees and Sadducees that He knew would be His accusers… the friend who watched His dear friends grieve over the loss of His dear friend Lazarus whom yes He did resurrect… but He was also the cousin who lost His own dear Cousin John the Baptist to a senseless murder… a decapitation… by a corrupt government… and whom was NOT resurrected.

The sad truth is that if we do not want to believe, we won’t. If we don’t care, we won’t. And if someone else giving their life for us is not enough, it simply isn’t. That is our human flesh. But there are just as many that don’t know until they read or have been told. And to think that sending Jesus to die again would make the better impact is impractical because as You told the rich man who was in hell begging You to let Lazarus go back and warn his family… if they will not believe the MESSAGE, then it will not matter WHO delivers it. The Holy Spirit has to help someone believe. It is our responsibility to make sure we at least pass on what we do know… to let them know that You do love them… and that Jesus did give His life for them… that You are waiting so lovingly for them to welcome You into their life… and pray for them. ❤

❤ May You find us faithful! ❤

Walking the Walk, #4 Smell Walk

OH how fabulously wonderful You are, Lord. Absolutely fabulous! In who You are! In where You are! In how You are! I am so blessed to have met You here in this new favorite place You have given me. You have been whispering this place to me for quite some time, and I have tried to research as much as possible on how to meet You here. Yet today, You have spoken clearly, and delightfully surprised me!

It’s known for its gardens, but this is winter, so it was “barren” of the flowers everyone brags about. Yet I feel like it’s an earthy wonderland! It’s so beautifully designed. A beautiful use of concrete and earth in perfect blend… if there can be such a thing. It’s outdoors and yet so clean! Pristine! You are beautiful… wonderful… in Your time… in Your place! ❤ I go inside.

You first catch my attention with heritage… and have me think.

Ar1

What is an important tradition in my family or community?
The only thing that comes to mind are family dinners we use to have at my grandmother’s house. My mom’s family use to have holiday dinners there. There was no certain time of day. Aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren and several family friends would come and go throughout the day. When my grandmother passed in February of 2000, we no longer saw each other much, unless it was a funeral.

What have I learned by being a part of it?
Family can be so precious… even dysfunctional families. Enjoy the time while you can. It won’t last. It makes me think of one of my favorite gospel songs every time I lose someone I love…. I’ve Got More to Go to Heaven For (Than I Did Yesterday).

I’VE GOT MORE TO GO TO HEAVEN FOR
I’ve been on my way to Heaven… For a long, long time.
And many things have happened… That clouded up my mind.
But I am more determined… To walk the narrow way
For I’ve got more to go to Heaven for… Than I had yesterday.
CHORUS:
There’s a golden street to walk upon… A bell I’m gonna ring,
A brand-new angel in the choir… I wanna hear her sing.
There’ll be a lot of friends a-waiting… When I walk through the gate
I’ve got more to go to Heaven for… Than I had yesterday.
I’ve been through lonesome valleys… I’ve climbed the highest hill,
I’ve known the joy of living… In the center of God’s will.
I’ve watched the angels come and take… My loved ones home to stay
I’ve got more to go to Heaven for… Than I had yesterday.

You continue to have me think on family tradition.

Ar2

Banana Pudding was our family tradition…
for every holiday… sometimes every meal.
Banana Pudding and Sweet Tea! ❤
“O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

– Psalm 34:8 KJV

Now You turn my focus to water… Your gift to life.

Ar3

Seeing this makes me think of the struggle I have with dehydration, and this makes for a great motivator and reminder! It also reminds me of when I was doing Lovely A’s 21 Day Self Care Challenge on her Discovering Your Happiness website. My response was noted on Self Care Challenge Day 8: Water. I actually took the picture thinking of her! ❤

Chewing Gum comes from a tree! Wow! I did not know that! 🙂

Ar4

I love corn, beans, and squash! A tasty dinner to me, Lord! 🙂

Ar5

After hearing some Native Americans narrate different nature topics and traditional stories, I venture outside. I have no pictures. I started just enjoying things when I sat down for the stories. I’m walking where there are normally gardens and flowers, so says the guy when I came in and every touring person that passes me. Yet I am not the least bit disappointed. Perhaps because I have not come to see them. I have come to see You!

Again the place just seems like the most tenderly fabulous earthy wonderland! I find one of the many beautifully designed areas to sit in, and just take You in. The sun is so bright and beautiful on this winter day, and the wind just does what it wants with my hair. But it’s OK. It’s comforting… because it’s You… being playful… being tender… being loving… being personal… being You! This place reminds me of places people have introduced to me in the past. For some reason I start thinking of those special faces.

Counselors, teachers, friends who have taken moments out to sit and talk with me… knowing that I am claustrophobic… and very uncomfortable with talking inside closed walls… while a clock ticks… reminding of how unimportant my words are, so make it quick for the one who is listening. But not here. Outside in a warm sun… with no clock hovering over me. It makes me miss them so. I have so much I wish I could talk to them about. They broke protocols and rules to go out of their way to help save me from things in my life when I did not know I needed saving from anything. My heart aches for them. I miss them as much as I miss family… even if some them were dysfunctional as well.  How human we all are. Yet we are Your humans! Thank You, Lord, for going out of Your way today to meet me here. I will be back!

As I start to walk away from this area, a smell permeates my air. And I can smell how beautiful it is! So pleasant! So comforting! There’s just something about it that smells like… You! I see nothing but barrenness until suddenly I see a sign that says Lily of the Valley! *GASP* Oh dear Lord! My favorite song! My grandmother’s favorite flower, and a name sweetly referenced to You!

Lily of the Valley – hymn lyrics by Charles W. Fry
I have found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.
CHORUS:
He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;
I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.
[CHORUS]
He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll.
[CHORUS]

It’s not visible, but I can smell despite the darkened earth. Praise Your name I can smell! I have been trying to do the Smell Walk, #3 of the 50 Walks within the Walking the Walk Challenge with Lovely A of Discovering Your Happiness, but have just not been able to smell! I had done Walking the Walk, #3 Delight Walk in its place. But I smelled that lovely Lily of the Valley! ❤ And this was before I had the occipital nerve block last week, of which I felt it opening my sinus within minutes.

As I continue to walk, I smell another familiar aroma… Spruce… everywhere! It smells so good! And just as I think of touching out of curiosity, You remind me of my allergies and sensitivities. I’ll never forget Scratch and Sniff 203! That was my Botany class. In lab exercises we walked the college campus scratching and sniffing twigs, flowers, branches (that we were warned not to touch because of chemicals to protect them). I had the worst allergic reaction I have had involving a fever. A high fever that did not break until the 9th day of a 10 day antibiotic course. No more Scratch and Sniff, Professors! 😉

All of this beautiful smell within a seemingly lifeless foliage makes me think on how filthy I must have looked to You underneath all of my sin when my soul laid beneath the dead and broken leaves, the barren dark branches, and this uninviting view. Yet You saw beauty in me. You saw You in me! Again I think of my counselors and teachers You used to save me, to clean and toil the surface, to dig out the roots and choking weeds, to rid me of that one dark blot…. multiplied by a thousand. Thank You for coming for me! Thank You for the souls You blessed me with. Help me to thankful for those I still have!

One last sign on the way out… is a Fabulous answer to prayer!

Ar7

I continue to walk around and then find this sign telling me of several small trails! Could this be answer to prayer, and a guide for the 50 Walks in the Walking the Walk Challenge! Absolutely! Thank You for this day! For this intoxicating scent! For these fond memories of people I miss so much! Thank You for just being You! As Always! ❤

Breathing With Friends, Week 2

Lord, it’s week 2 and I was so worried that I wasn’t going to be able to attend because of having the occipital nerve block just a few hours before. I was praying and counting on the doctor being right, that I would be able to drive myself home. I had been cautiously optimistic enough to ask my sister Sandra to go with in case she had to drive home because it was the first time I was having shots put into the back of my head.

occiptal nerve block

You were so faithful to answer that prayer! I was able to drive home, and then to the Breathe Ladies Bible Study! Thank You! ❤ Praise Your Holy Name! ❤

I go in and I see Keitha! Yay! A Keitha hug! I love a Keitha hug! I love hugs from my sisters in Christ! I love hugs! ❤ I have my badge (which I have forgotten to a picture of thus far). I sit down. I meet a new sister in Christ as Jackie comes to sit beside me, then Stephanie, and Kristy! Kristy has a new hairdo since I saw her last! It’s awesome! We have some great fellowship. My favorite moment was when Keitha was telling a couple of inside stories about her and Kristy. They were so funny!
I am missing Sarah this week. I thought of texting her so while sitting there, but left my cell in the car 😦  Lord willing, I will see her next week.

Then Keitha hands out a 30 Day De-Clutter Challenge Calendar!

30 day declutter challenge calendar

As Keitha was talking about this challenge, she was asking us if there was clutter in our lives… if there was something or an area that was so cluttered we couldn’t even enjoy it anymore. She gave an example of a favorite chair that we might love sitting in, but we have put so many things around it, we can’t sit it in. We have to move a lot stuff out of the way, just to squeeze in. I immediately thought of my bed. I can’t believe I’m going to do this… but just for you who read… just for Keitha who encouraged… and for God who I am trusting on this journey He has prepared for me.

cluttered bed

This is all the space in this world that I have for me and everything I own. You can see why as Keitha mentioned the chair so cluttered that things would have to be moved just to squeeze in I immediately thought of my bed that I barely have room to sleep in each night, or whenever I have procedures, or meds take over, or whatever reason I TRY to sit on my bed… even just to sit here and type on the computer… as you can see is crowded as well. So yes I did raise my hand when Keitha asked if anyone would be willing to do the 30 Day De-Clutter Challenge with her.

I will be blogging on that challenge for each day (even if I don’t necessarily get it typed THAT day). It reminds of when I was doing the 21 Day Self Care Challenge with Lovely A of Discovering Your Happiness, and I did my post on Self Care Challenge Day 17: De-Cluttering. God uses these challenges to help me get needed things done!

We did our viewing of the video
Breathe:Making Room for Sabbath by Priscilla Shirer.
This is week 2… Stops Along the Sabbath Journey.

week2 video guide answers

I thought I would show you what a stop on my Sabbath journey looks like. On Sunday mornings I first take my stepdad to his church by 9 am, then go back to get my son to take him to his church, then back to my stepdad’s church because they get out first. I often do MY Sabbath in the car…. often like this… listening to my son’s church on the radio live while doing a puzzle book. It helps me to focus, I kid you not.

Notice the notes that took over my puzzle! 😉

puzzlebook notes

After watching the video we discuss it, the book, our answers, and listening to Keitha talk about things we have normally enjoyed in the past, but we cannot enjoy now because there is so much clutter, or because we don’t say no to others, so we are no longer available to enjoy what we have.

2018-03-05

Keitha has since sent an email including an attachment of the calendar for those who may have missed it. I am glad she did. Now I have one to keep up with in my book wherever I go, and one on my computer to remind while I am here at home.
I am not sure where  things will go from here… but I desperately need to clean in all the areas on that de-clutter challenge. Okay God, the rest is up to You!

Do you need to do the
30 Day De-Clutter Challenge
with me?? 😉

Sunshine Blogger Award 1.31.18

Dear Lord, How lovingly kind You continue to be to me… to this blog You thoughtfully allowed me! Here I pour out my love to You, as much as possible, as I would anywhere You will allow… yet You shine Your light of love all over. Thank You for allowing Lovely A to continuously be that ray of sunshine You send my way, by nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Thank You for the never ending ray of Light that Your Son shines in my life! ❤ Thank you for all the ways You shine Your light! ❤sunshine-blogger-awardLovely Anita, Thank you for the nomination of this Sunshine Blogger Award. You are always so generous and thoughtful to me. God has gifted you in helping others with Discovering Your Happiness. How rich your blog has grown, as you continue to seek Him first. He’s been there all along, and He’ll never leave you! He loves you! ❤ And so do I! ❤
If you don’t mind I want to share this in memory of another ray of God’s sunshine.

Mr-Spence-450x450Willie S. was a very godly man whom God used in the life of many. My son and I met him as my son’s principal at his Christian School, which was also a part of the church we attended. Through the years, we were blessed to become friends with him, his beautiful wife, and his loving daughters. He passed away the day before I was nominated for this award. That day had a lot of challenges in it, but I was finding God’s rays of sunshine all over the place (and I am going to nominate those rays). It was not until later when I got to the computer… to finally catch a breath from that day… to accept the award and nominate others… that I read the sad news.
I took a long pause and prayed it wasn’t so. But it was. I’m surprised in some ways that it meant so much… to have to take a couple of hours to even move from where I was. I thought about his dear family, and how invaluable they have each been… to me… my  son… my family… our friends… and so many. How hard and faithful my stepdad and I (along with family quite often) had been praying for him. We were so hopeful. But our loss is his gain, as I posted in The Loss and Gain of a Godly Man. They each have shone a strong ray of God’s light into our lives. So may the Lord allow this to be a candle for Willie S. and his family. Ψ

img_0972-e1516061975934“Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory.
Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory.
Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory.
 Children of the Lord.”
Rise and Shine (the Arky, Arky Song), Children’s song

“Turn your light on. Turn your light on. It’s important that you shine, shine shine.
Turn your light on. Turn your light on. It’s important that you shine, shine shine.”
Turn Your Light On, Children’s song

“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine. Let it shine. Let it shine.”
This Little Light of Mine, lyrics by Harry Dixon Loes

How can I see the word Sunshine, especially as an award, and NOT think of these songs, Dear Lord. An award that is meant to shine light on this blog and give glory to the owner/author or the content therein. Yet it is all You! You gave me this blog, and the whispers that have created the words each time. I praise Your Holy name for shining glory on Your whispers, and giving glory that I can completely shine on You! Turning YOUR light on! I’m gonna let it shine as much as the Holy Spirit will allow! 🙂

“The sun comes up. It’s a new day dawning.
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me.
Let me be singing when the evening comes.”
10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord), lyrics by Jonas Myrin / Matt Redman

And of course it brings to mind the more common song.

“You are my sunshine. You are my sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You’ll never know dear how much I love you.
Please don’t take my sunshine away.”
You Are My Sunshine, lyrics by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell

Lord, You share Your sunshine with me again through Lovely A of Discovering Your Happiness!  “Thank you, Lovely Anita, for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! I absolutely think of you with sunshine! You are my sunshine! You make me and so many others happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know how much the dear Lord has allowed you so much love through so many of us… but especially Him! ❤
