An Honest and Surrendered Will

God, I am sitting here… reading Your word… praying… listening… thinking on (selah)… a message that I am trying to write for you and those who will read… a post to let them know if they do not hear from me, or I am slow to respond, or accidentally miss a message that I am healing from a new procedure done just yesterday. Yet even while trying to inform about this RFA (Radio-Frequency Ablation) done to my right side this time and will be done to my left side in 2 weeks, I want to make sure this stays about You.

Yes it is to inform my friends and community that I am in a great deal of pain, struggling to walk, to sit, to stand, and sometimes get on the computer, so please be patient with me with responding. The wall, my claw walker, my heat/ice wrap, my chair You blessed me with from the ladies in my bible study are dear friends to me right now as I need them to get through this. But in even in all this pain, Lord, I know You do nothing by accident. The hope of these procedures is to eliminate (or at least alleviate) back pain that goes into my legs, that is excruciating pretty quickly when standing for more than 5 or 10 minutes. To relieve nerves in the lumbar and sacrum area that are being encroached upon. They burned these nerves for two minutes. I can’t help but think of Your word.

Burning… for purification… tried in the fire.. to let patience have her perfect work… that I may be perfect and entire… wanting nothing.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” – James 1:2-4 AKJV

Are You burning my physical nerves to purify my spiritual nerves? Are You walking me through my fiery furnace to emphasize coming though without even the smell of smoke on them? I particularly thought of the latter because for several hours after the procedure because when I would use the bathroom I would smell something burnt, something hot, like burned wires or overheated electronics. It took me several hours to realize it was me.

I may have smelled smoke from the burning that took place for 2 minutes on my physical body, but it is my spirit that You emphasize You have walked with throughout my life, and have brought me through without even a smell of that past. Only through testimony to You does anyone ever know. And even though those details be horrific, filthy, violent, evil, and vile… through Your mercy, salvation, grace, rescue and reconciliation… through restoration it is all… only love! My love for you! Your love for me! Unconditionally! No matter what.

Even when my human mind goes through normal cycles of doubt, fear, shame, and guilt that has long been saturated with Your Son’s blood… You see, hear, and KNOW my love for You is unshakable, unwavering, and unconditional! Just the way You taught me! Through the very love You share with me.

So while I heal through another unfamiliarity, pray for relief from unwanted pain, and hope for healing even where they have used words like chronic, permanent, and nothing they can do… I KNOW YOU CAN! And while I know You can, I recognize Your Sovereignty, Your Authority, and Your Will. Just as Jesus asked You in the garden to remove His cup from Him if it were possible, I ask for all of the healing, restoration, and relief from pain that You will allow. And just like Jesus I leave my trust in Your hands because only You know the plans You have for me. Only You know who is witnessing my battle, my pain, my surrender to Your will for their own journey of faith.

Some may call me resigned, getting in the way of my own healing, lacking faith and thereby causing my own problems. But I know that is not the God You are. My sins are no match for Your blood and therefore I am forgiven. And surrendering even my health to Your will is not lacking faith, it is quite the opposite. I am not a hero or some kind of pain warrior. I cannot promise a testimony without tears, fears, depression, or the many things the world promises me from being Yours. I am after all still human, just as Jesus was while still in human flesh.

But I know that You promise my weakness makes Your strength perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9) , and that I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). You promise to be with me (Psalm 16:8). And that You do care about my pain (1 Peter 5:7). I know You do! I believe You. And that is a great part of my strength. It all comes down to You! The Father who saw His only begotten Son come to Him 3 different times to pray in agony, yet ALWAYS trusting in His Father’s will. Help me to always keep my mind on Your will, and my trust into Your hands (Isaiah 26:3). As the psalmist penned,

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

In Jesus’ name I pray and trust because He has left me an example like none other…
an honest and surrendered will to the Heavenly Father! ❤ Amen!

The Sunshine Blogger Award 11.2.19

I pray I continue to please You, as You keep sending encouragement by whispering to Stu of Something to Stu Over to nominate me for The Sunshine Blogger Award. Bless him, his family, his ministry, and his blog, Lord. Let Him feel Your strong embrace and powerful presence.

sunshinebloggeraward-753611463

Thank you, Stu, for the kind nomination! God has used you to shine a little of His light and love my way! Always a welcomed blessing! May the Lord continue to shower you with crowns to lay at His feet! Me and God love you, Brother!

Here are the guidelines:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.
  • List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their posts.
  • Ask the nominees 11 new questions.

Stu’s Questions for Me:

1. When, what seems like the weight of the world is upon your shoulders, what keeps you motivated to take that next step?
God! Without His help I could no nothing… literally. He helps me to take the next step when I can’t even feel my legs.
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
– Isaiah 40:29 AKJV

2. What is something that you used to collect as a child that you wish you still had?
As a child I did not collect anything. I don’t know if I ever gave thought to it. But as a unwed teenage mom, I collected tapes and pictures of my gift from the Lord… my son. I still have pictures, but the voice recordings are gone. I think of them often and wish for them. Especially one where my 3 yr old son was telling my 20 something yr old brother, “Uncle Charlie! Uncle Charlie! Wake up! Wake up and hit the world before the world hits you!” It was precious and profound. I don’t know where he heard it, but I have carried that with me through life. I miss those recordings, and I miss my dear brother who has been in heaven now for 12 years.

3. What exactly gives you a sense of accomplishment?
It is hard to feel I have accomplished anything. But when God lets me know I have done His will, I have the blessing of feeling accomplished. He is sweet to allow me the same feeling in puzzle books… especially when they are hard or challenging!

4. What was your hardest challenge to overcome?
Myself! God has worked long and hard to help me see the junk I carried for so long from being misinformed and intentionally misled. And He continues to make me more and more of His every day!
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
– Galatians 2:20 AKJV

5. Why do you feel the church is silent on dealing with real life issues like addiction and sex?
Fear of influence on those vulnerable and impressionable,
and fear of unknown, differences, what seems threatening to one’s faith

6. What is your personal opinion as to why it seems more and more little ones are being shot, beaten, kidnapped or worse?
It is a wicked and evil world we live in. We have devalued life for quite awhile now, while making life all about looking out for ourselves. It validates God’s warning of having tribulation.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
– John 16:33 AKJV

7. Why would any parent, no matter what the hell is going on in their lives, want to take the lives of their kids?
These are hard questions because it is unbelievable what is happening to our children, and breaks my heart. Yet I assure you it hurts God too. Whether someone has mental illness or is simply filled with a evil spirit, they’re God’s children. He will have His justice.
“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”
– Matthew 18:6 AKJV

8. What is your favorite post/posts you have written? Share links please 😊
** Me and God This was my first attempt at a testimony. It was the 3rd post when I first opened my blog settings to public instead of just me and God. It was while I was taking the 30 Truth Posts Challenge about myself.
** Love of My Life – I Am His Song (my dear friend Lene invited me to write my testimony on her blog that honors purity… Song of Virginity. It is one of my favorites because I struggled for years to get my testimony down. Poetry I could flourish with (Thank You, Lord) but narrowing down everything Christ has done for me??? God used Lene to help me get it done.

9. I don’t know if this one is possible but what is the most liked post on your blog?
Thanking God For Failed Relationships is the top blog post among 20 or so awards that are most liked.

10. Which post is the one most commented on?
The Barnabas Award 10.21.19 and My Very Present Help

11. And finally, who is your top supporter as far as comments? Give them a shout out 😊

1 Grateful Person Tag 11.2.19

Wow, Lord. A very powerful phrase… 1 Grateful Person! That You would include me by having Matt of Jesus Luvs All nominate this blog (Your blog) in creating his 1 Grateful Person Tag. I am humbled beyond words. Thank You!

Thank you, Matt, for your kind nomination! How creative and edifying at the same time. God is worthy of all His praise, and this is a great reminder of how God loves us even without being thanked May we be the one that thanks Him and leave a testimony that compels the other 9 to take a moment to thank Him.

Jesus expressed his dismay over the lack of gratitude by 9 lepers he healed in Luke 17:

“Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

“When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.”

“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan”

“Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Here are the rules:

The 1 Grateful Person Tag is based on Luke 19 and the account of Jesus with the 1 out ten lepers he healed who came back thank him. Let us aspire to be like the 1 who thanked Jesus and not the 9 who did not.

1- Share what you are grateful to Jesus for.

2-Share a passage from the bible about gratitude that means something to you.

3- Tag whoever you wish to.

4- Please share a link to my original post. 1 Grateful Person

5- Use any picture in your post that expresses gratitude.

6. Share the intro

“In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

– 1 Thessalonians 5:18 46710044_973949219472790_699705319898480640_nSo often I struggle with doubting I am doing God’s Will in my life, and as the loving Father He always is, He brings me to this simple verse. Simple because it tells us the will of God if to give thanks in everything. No master’s degree required, no license, no fame or fortune. He just wants to be thanked… by all of us! He is worthy!

I am so thankful for WHO Jesus is…
and HOW He is! ❤

I Miss My Lovely A!

Lord, I am missing one of my dear friends today… 😦
a friend that I was so blessed to receive from You… ❤
My Lovely A… Miss Lovely… and Lovely Anita
is the author of Discovering Your Happiness.discovering you happiness logoToday was her birthday.

I miss being able to share awards and tags, reading each other’s blogs to find You were whispering the same exact message, or sometimes complimenting one another’s differences.

Some of those she created… like

The Inside My Head Tag the-inside-my-head-tag

and the This OR That Tagthis-or-that-tag

She is a blessing that You brought to me at a time I literally believed I was just faithfully living out my last days in quiet. You used her Self Care Challenge to motivate me so much that in taking part in it (21 Day Self Care Challenge) I found a friend who faithfully encouraged me, supported me, and cheered me on through good and bad days.

She taught me how to do tagging, pingbacks, notifications, collage pictures, and so much more. She was the first one to nominate me for an award, and my how generous she was with those awards and tags. She knew I loved using them to praise You, and to share with others. I loved her cheerful giving! 🙂

I miss keeping up with her days at work, her adventures with her bestie, the upcoming wedding of her sister, and watching her love for the You grow so beautifully. I remember her favorite song at the time was From the Inside Out.

I pray she is having a blessed day, a wonderfully memorable birthday, and a flourishing relationship with You. I pray that You are giving her victory after victory over her anxiety, and that You have showered her with love, strength, mercy, and grace, on those days anxiety seemed to be stronger. It may have disguised her strength as weakness, but it has NEVER been stronger than the God who gives her strength, and assures her that His strength is made perfect in her weakness, and that she can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens her! May she know You have NEVER left her, and that You will always love her… cherish her… treasure her!Happy Bday, Lovely A 2019Wherever she is today, Lord, shower her with many voices telling her Happy Birthday for me! As long as she knows it’s really love from You, that is all that matters. And should she hear You whispering deep inside… let her know she is dearly loved and missed! ❤

For His Glory

gaillovesgodspoetry

For His glory! Not mine!
That is why I write!
No pain or depression,
Or any other oppression
Should get in the way
Of needing to say,
God loves you!

A dying and hurting world
Needs to know He loves every boy and girl!
A sister and brother in Christ
Need encouragement for the fight.
Whether lost or saved,
We need the message He gave,
God loves you!

SO pick up the pen
And write again!
The battle is fierce
Shedding blood and tears.
But we must not delay
For one who needs to hear us say,
God loves you!

October|“What Kind of Pumpkin Are You?” Tag 10.23.19

What kind of pumpkin am I?? Lord, You have an interesting sense of humor to allow Dawn of Drawing Closer to Christ to nominate me for the October|“What Kind of Pumpkin Are You?” Tag. I love the little story told in the picture. How cute.  I confess those seeds of doubt still need some cleaning out. Not because I distrust you, but because I am still growing, and I know You are still washing the dirt off, and scooping out all the yucky stuff. Just when I think it’s all cleaned out, You find a seed I didn’t even know was there. You keep carving to get that smile to stay, and place a light inside that may not be visible to the human eye (nor my mind’s eye at times), but is absolutely You as my ever present help. My favorite part is when You pick me up! ❤

Thank you, Dawn, for a precious tag that causes me to take a moment to think on my relationship with Christ. I love considering the different ways God is working in my life. May you always see the light burning in your pumpkin! 🙂
God loves you, Dawn!pumpkin tag 1Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who tagged you and link their post to yours.
  2. Link the original post so the creators can read them 😊
  3. Use the original featured image and include it in your post.
  4. Copy and paste the meaning of the tag into your post.
  5. Answer the questions.
  6. Tag at least one person.
  7. Have fun and enjoy the rest of your month! ❤ I love the meaning behind this tag…

Here are the questions:

  1. Do you celebrate Halloween? Why or why not?
No, I do not celebrate Halloween. Not only is against my faith, but I grew up around too much violence and death at least since 3 years old (earliest I can remember).
  2. Cookie Monsters!Do you like to watch scary movies? Why or why not?
No! Watching death or someone’s pain is not entertaining for me. Fake or not!
  3. Name 3 of your greatest fears.
I have struggled with fears for as long as I can remember. Sometimes you may read on my blog the Lord leading me to talk about them with Him or to testify. If He is not leading me to do either, I do not talk about them. Don’t help Delilah! 😉
  4. When was the last time you scared someone?
    I don’t know.
  5. Do you believe in ghosts, angels, and/or demons?
Yes. The bible speaks of all 3, but tells us to have nothing to do with them.
    a) We all have a ghost (biblically known as a familiar spirit) within us. King Saul tricked the witch of Endor (who knew better than Saul that it was a sin to deal with familiar spirits) to summon Samuel up from the grave. When Samuel arose, he rebuked Saul, and warned Saul that he and his sons would die too that day… and they did.
    b) There are bad angels. 1/3 of heavens angels fell with Satan.
    c) Legion is just one of the parables Jesus told of a young man possessed with a demon… actually several demons, hence the name Legion. They knew who Jesus was, and they feared him enough that at Jesus’ command they left the young man and went into a herd of swine, which they then drove into the waters and drowned.
  6. Do you ever get déjà vu? What do you think it means?
I have experienced the feeling. I think it just means we either have done something we just don’t remember doing before but sense we have, or that there are too many similarities in life that get our attention more than others, just depending on where our minds are.
  7. What are two of your favorite candies?
    Reese Cups, gummies

The Barnabas Award 10.21.19

Dear Lord! How Your love pours and pours… all over this blog (YOUR blog)… all over me… and all over those You use to bless me… and those You will allow me to bless in sharing! How do I begin to thank You for The Barnabas Award!

In the King James Version (KJV) of Your Holy Bible it means son of consolation,
“And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,”
– Acts 4:36 KJV

and in the New International Version (NIV) it means son of encouragement.
“Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”)”
– Acts 4:36 NIV

To be an encourager or a consoler for You… to bring someone cheer or comfort… with Your love… is a humbling privilege… an opportunity only You can give.
