He’s Still There

God is still there.
He’s still in my heart.
I thought we were separated,
but we were never apart.
He wouldn’t walk away
or say, “I give up.”
Instead, He embraced me
and gave me His love.
Why did I feel that He
had closed His eyes to me,
when all He ever wanted
was to help me to see
that I am His child
and always in His hands?
When I’m feeling so lost,
He always understands.
Why do I fall for it,
the trick of the evil lie
that God will throw us away
if we don’t even try?
For this is the time
that He promised to forgive.
He’s not going to take away
the love He wants to live.

Resistant Faith

You stood before my Majesty
and laid your gifts to bribe,
but oh you were disappointed
to find not your name in the scribe.
You dreamt of things to share,
but continued to hide away.
What sadness pained your heart
to know you’d lose on judgment day.
Taking all the written laws
and abiding with conditions,
how horrible to be condemned
by your own propositions.
Won’t you lay yourself to rest
and honor our Lord God Almighty?
He only asks for your repentance
to offer a life beside Him.

Mandatory Invitation

Attention! Attention!
Can everyone hear?
This is a message
from someone so dear!
There is a feast
to celebrate the found.
Those who are freed
are no longer bound.
Make your presence clear
to honor the King.
He won’t take a no.
It’s a mandatory thing.
Show your love and respect
by showing up there.
He’ll be waiting
to see that you care!

Listen for God’s Messages

God sends messengers to relay His message.
May be a prophecy or to quote His passage.
But in those words are what He is saying.
He doesn’t want editing or someone playing.
He especially hates when someone flat out lies,
saying it’s from God just to add to their disguise.
This misleads the people and angers God.
When they say, “He said” and He did not.
To cause people to rebel or go stray
will bring judgment eventually their way.
So it’s important to guard our hearts
and keep our relationships strong with God.
That way we will be able to hear
“Walk not with them” or “Do not fear”.
Stay in His word and remain just.
God is mighty and able to trust.

Clinging to God’s Word

Clinging so tight to God’s word,
I cling to His heart.
I hold onto His promises
that He will never depart.
His word does not fail us
like we fail Him.
When He makes promises,
He keeps them.
Endurance, mercy, patience
He knows so well.
In His presence
I long to dwell.
Jesus said He prepared
a place just for me.
I believe so strong.
I’m eager to see!

The Bugler Is A Minister

Who would’ve thought
the bugler is a minister,
called to serve God
amidst the sinister?
Heading out to war,
he is to make the call.
It draws God nigh
and makes the enemy fall.
Irving Berlin
and all his songs.
God bless America
keeps us strong.
Thanks for the song,
the alarm, and words.
Such an awesome way
to say You’ve heard.

My 7 Things About Myself are my current favorite songs.

1. As You know I have been struggling at times with my anxiety, sometimes my depression, and quite often the frustration of physical challenges. This song Even If by MercyMe has ministered to me day & night since You introduced me through a friend.

2. The first song ended with a reference to the hymn It Is Well With My Soul. Everyone should hear a hymn every once in a while… sung to the tune the Lord gave it… and with a choir/congregation. At least once… sing the whole song! This motivates my soul! It Is Well With My Soul by Sovereign Grace Music.

3. Ohhh. *Gasp, and silently waiting for a breath to return!* Dear Lord. How do I find words for what You allow this song to do for my soul? If You had not come! Where would I be? ❤ Love Came For Me by Northland Church. Thank You for coming for me! ❤

4. Joy! LOVELY Lord! This song absolutely lifts me, motivates me, and makes it feel impossible to quit smiling and clapping, tapping my feet. Joy, Lord! Unashamed Joy! Oh the joy of a choir/congregation! And this one! I Love the leading voice! You hear and feel the pure joy! Leaning On The Everlasting Arms by The Church of God.

5. How could I not hear the word LOVELY and not think of Here I Am to Worship by Worship? It sings the very words “You’re altogether LOVELY, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.”

6. Oh by the way, Lord. When it comes to Your precious Son Jesus Christ, did I mention that I Love Him? How I worship and adore Him? When I can’t see no way, He makes a way. And did I mention He’s been faithful to every promise He’s ever made me. I Love Him. That’s all I want to say. I praise you for Did I Mention by The Rochesters!

7. Lastly is my all time favorite video. I wish I could fly along with the camera… and You! I like to pretend I can. It’s such a beautiful collection of scenery… Your creative artwork comforts my soul! How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin.

I Read

I read.
I read for comfort, for entertainment, for pleasure.
I read to learn, to grow, to discover,
and I read to absorb the art of God’s treasure.
The written word is such a drug for me.
There is so much to read.
This is not just a way to pass time.
This is a genuine need.
There are times reading needs a break.
To find the time to read is the true conflict.
I pray for the moment to come
and praise my Lord when I finally have it.
Now there are times I avoid reading
because I want to reject the world in every way,
but sooner or later I am drawn in by the word
and just have to know what the writer has to say.
I read.
I read because I have a need to read.
Writers, please continue to supply my joy.
God, thank you, for this artistic breed.

The Evangelistic Well

Preachers study so hard
to bring us God’s word.
Had he not been faithful,
we would’ve never heard.
Ministers serve so many
ministering to their church.
The faithful serving
helps heal the hurt.
Evangelists travel to tell
Jesus wants no one in hell.
Thank God for the evangelist
who shared from the well.

Spiritual Warfare on Medication: Response

Lord! You never cease to amaze me! You continue to delightfully surprise and reassure me! First, you surprised me with Lene (aka LeneinJapan) posting the article Love of my Life – I am His Song that she invited me to quest write on her website Song of Virginity.

Then, after I was talking with you last night about being weak with fear and uncertainty, doubtful of your peace with my brain being medicated. In my post Spiritual Warfare on Medication, I was afraid I made you look bad for my fear to paralyze me regardless of medication, and even while I am your child. I was so concerned you were upset with me, or at least disappointed. Yet by your grace and in your strength, I chose to look to you and trust your promises of unfailing love. I fell asleep listening to your word in song, and I awakened to such a beautiful and loving response! ❤

RELAX IN MY EVERLASTING ARMS. Your weakness is an opportunity to grow strong in awareness of My Almighty Presence. When your energy fails you, do not look inward and lament the lack you find there. Look to Me and My sufficiency; rejoice in My radiant riches that are abundantly available to help you.
Go gently through this day, leaning on Me and enjoying My Presence. Thank Me for your neediness, which is building trust-bonds between us. If you look back on your journey thus far, you can see that days of extreme weakness have been some of your most precious times. Memories of these days are richly interwoven with golden strands of My intimate Presence.”
Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence, September 27, p.282

You are not disappointed! You do not scold! You lovingly instruct me, and assure me I did right by turning my eyes upon you! You tenderly tell me relax  by Leaning on Your Everlasting Arms! ❤

The eternal God is thy refuge,
and underneath are the everlasting arms:
and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;
and shall say, Destroy them.
– Deuteronomy 33:27 KJV

You tell me my weakness and failing energy are opportunities for me to be aware of your presence. You tell me instead of lamenting on what I lack to rejoice in your abundant riches that are available to help! Those riches are my doctors! My medication! Therapy! And of course, your presence! Your strength!

You tell me to thank you for my neediness because it builds trust between us. Thank you for thinking I am worth spending that time with and sharing trust, even in weakness. You are right that it has been in my days of extreme weakness that I have had some of the most precious times with you!  Your word tells me that when I do not know understand my fear, nor know what to pray that the Holy Spirit in praying on my behalf.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. – Romans 8:26 KJV

You tell me you know how I felt hopeless without you, and that I was wise to keep circling my problem as Joshua did the wall of Jericho, and wise to wait upon you.

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the Lord. – Psalm 27:13-14 KJV

Thank you for being so personal, for your blessed assurance! Thank you for the doctors, medicines, and therapies. I pray for each one you use in my life. Bless them, Lord.
So now I am off to go gentle into another day, leaning on you your everlasting arms and rejoicing in your presence. ❤ I love you, Lord! ❤ And always will! ❤

Finding Treasure In You

Ministry and friends,
I never knew one day they’d be the same.
Friends in ministry,
I never knew I’d know so many by name.
My son and you,
I had a hope you would know each other.
You in my son,
I would have hope for no other.
Serving in joy,
I would not have thought went together.
Joy in serving,
I want that feeling to last forever.
Hope in faith,
I seek to hold onto you.
Faith in hope,
I know you hold onto me too.

Things I’ve Heard While Reading You

Chariots, horses, and oxen too,
things I’ve heard while reading You.
Flowers, gardens, and vineyards grow,
each with a parable to learn and know.
Giants, ghosts, and angels who fly
make me want to know how and why.
A virgin, a carpenter, and a coming king
makes one want to hear the angels sing.
The wine, the dove, and a brother out of the grave
makes one glad He came to save.
The sweat, the cross, and the betrayal of friends,
Lord willing, makes one want to repent.

Promised Hope

Set on a hope,
my heart is yearning
to be there with Him
that bright glad morning.
Loved ones and friends
wait with Him there for me.
What joy fills my soul
to know I’ll one day be
there in that hope
that will become sight.
He will brighten my world.
No more night!
Fixed on a promise
from the Promise Keeper,
I’ll be comforted,
no more a weeper.

Joy In The Bible

Joy in the bible.
Joy in reading Your pages.
Joy in traveling
With You through the ages.
Joy in learning
The many acts of faith.
Joy in witnessing
The many acts of grace.
Joy in Your mercy.
Joy in Your love.
Joy in getting to know
Your only Son from above.
Joy to know it’s real.
Joy to know it lasts.
Joy to know some day
It will ALL come to pass!

KEEP FIGHTING

Come on, keep fighting.
Don’t give up.
Life was meant
to be this tough.
It’s not that easy
to have it all.
To rise above,
you must take the fall.
To read and write
is to live and learn.
To love and care
is to touch and burn.
To have a choice
is to know to choose.
To have something to gain
there must be something to lose.
To appreciate the gift
you must nurture the object.
To pass the class
you must study the subject.

This poem was my 1st assignment for the campus newspaper at my 1st college for my A.A. I was surprised at the response. The Editor made a note about the beautiful poem and my talent. Students and professors said it was beautiful, some asking for an autograph. I admit I laughed because I had never been asked before and thought they were teasing. Some I had been in class with for awhile and were good friends with. I was quickly made to understand I was mocking them. Praise the Lord to sign put a smile back on their face.  They were extra thankful when I gave permission to hang the poem on their fridge, mirror, and other places. I was shocked! Most surprising was everyone calling it BEAUTIFUL. It was a last minute assignment, and I felt like I “just done enough” to get it in. God is so good! And so surprising!
