IN JULY OF THIS 2020 YEAR, THE LORD GAVE ME A PROVERBS JOURNAL THAT ALLOWED ME TO READ A CHAPTER EACH DAY, AND THEN NOTE FROM THAT READING. BELOW WILL BE A LINK TO THE CHAPTER FOR EACH DAY, MY NOTES FOR THAT CHAPTER, AND SOME DAYS POETRY THAT HIS WORD INSPIRED ME TO WRITE AS WELL. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND STRENGTHENING JOURNEY.
THANKS GOD FOR THE MOMENTS! I LOVE YOU!
Proverbs, Chapter 17 (Click here to read for better understanding of the connection between the scripture and the notes they inspired below.)
Father God, Today You prepared me well. I had a very important appointment today with the ENT. It was a new one. While I would really rather cancel the appointment to be safe for Bobby and all of us, I really needed the appointment to figure out why I’m getting choked so much, and to rule out any problems that could cause the same complications I had in 2016 during my procedures.
Thank You for being with me in so many ways. It was so evident You went before me everywhere You led me today. And You began with Proverbs 17, reminding me how to keep peace in the house.
“Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.”
(verse 1)
So much of today was to remind me of the wise and unwise tongue, of the helpful and haughty spirit, of strife and joy. Reminding me of the importance of watching what our tongue says to others.
Thank You for the prayer time we have done together in the car. Thank You for being faithful to answer. Finally, You convict me and stamp Your imprint into my brain, into my spirit, and into my soul with the last two verses.
“He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.”
(verses 27-28)
Then You finished up my day with a treat to put on my tummy. I was so hungry! Thank You for the praise and worship that Gwen and Wade minister with. I pray for their ministry and their staff.
Now I am so tired. It’s hard not to yawn. My eyes are heavy. This is what I have been reading. Time with You! Time in Your word!
I love You, Father God!
I love You, Sweet Jesus!
I love You, Precious Spirit!
