IN JULY OF THIS 2020 YEAR, THE LORD GAVE ME A PROVERBS JOURNAL THAT ALLOWED ME TO READ A CHAPTER EACH DAY, AND THEN NOTE FROM THAT READING. BELOW WILL BE A LINK TO THE CHAPTER FOR EACH DAY, MY NOTES FOR THAT CHAPTER, AND SOME DAYS POETRY THAT HIS WORD INSPIRED ME TO WRITE AS WELL. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND STRENGTHENING JOURNEY.
THANKS GOD FOR THE MOMENTS! I LOVE YOU!
Proverbs, Chapter 11 (Click here to read for better understanding of the connection between the scripture and the notes they inspired below.)
Lord, Help me not to be false nor unbalanced, but to be Your delightful just weight. Help me to avoid being filled with pride or shame, but instead to be lowly, wise, and filled with integrity. Perverseness surely does destroy and is so deceptive to the one who embraces it. Let righteousness delivereth me from such death, and direct my way. I don’t want to be taken in my own naughtiness., nor cause my hope to perish.
I prefer for righteousness to deliver me out of trouble. I want it to go well, to be blessed, and filled with wisdom, and for Your understanding to bring me peace.
Help me not to reveal secrets, nor known as a talebearer, but a faithful spirit. Help me to seek Godly counsel, but being a surety for anyone. I need to be sure. Help me to be gracious and filled with honor, and be strong. Help me to be merciful and good to my own soul. Help me to tend to life, and to be upright, and discreet.
Help me to diligently seek good, to flourish, to be wise of heart, to bear righteous fruit, to win souls, and to never take for granted Your Holy Word.
I love You and thank You for Your instruction. Help me to heed, to discern, and to apply. Thank You for being patient with me! Thank You for being a God who send loving instructions as a way to teach, guide, protect, warn, and renew.
Thank You for loving us just the way we are, but also loving us enough not to leave us that way! Help us to cling to You and Your Word!
I love You, Lord!
I love You, Jesus!
I love You, Holy Spirit!
Your word in Proverbs 11 inspired me to write this poem, Lord. It is called Righteousness, You Are A Friend… because You tell me that’s what Righteousness is to me. Any friend of Yours is a friend of mine!
Righteousness, You Are A Friend Of Mine!
Righteousness, you are a friend of mind.
One God says will protect me.
He says you’ll lead me and keep me,
And show me how to be His delight.
He says you know the way to life,
And how to avoid destruction.
He says you bring me integrity,
Peace, and cause me to flourish.
He says you help me make Him smile,
To be a faithful spirit,
And to walk in His way.
All these things cause God to speak so highly of you.
He speaks of favor when He speaks of you.
He tells me I am wise to follow you.
So here I am, Righteousness.
Make me, too, my Father’s delight.
I long to make Him smile.
I love Him.
