My Proverbs Journal (Chapter 7)

IN JULY OF THIS 2020 YEAR, THE LORD GAVE ME A PROVERBS JOURNAL THAT ALLOWED ME TO READ A CHAPTER EACH DAY, AND THEN NOTE FROM THAT READING. BELOW WILL BE A LINK TO THE CHAPTER FOR EACH DAY, MY NOTES FOR THAT CHAPTER, AND SOME DAYS POETRY THAT HIS WORD INSPIRED ME TO WRITE AS WELL. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND STRENGTHENING JOURNEY.
THANKS GOD FOR THE MOMENTS! I LOVE YOU!

Proverbs, Chapter 7 (Click here to read for better understanding of the connection between the scripture and the notes they inspired below.)

Lord, You tell me to call wisdom my sister, and understanding my kinswoman. You tell me she will keep me from the flattering of evil, and from the flattering of evil words.

That’s a powerful and true statement. Evil can appear flattering. Evil can sound flattering. When we do not flee the simple hint of that flattering, we can forfeit our souls, our bodies, and even our lives. Others can mock. but they are either smitten with that flattering themselves. or they are the face of flattery. Their voice is that deceptive flattery.

We need our sister wisdom, and our kinswoman understanding to reveal all flatteries. We need You to help us resist and stay strong. Help us to remember, to believe, and to obey wise understanding.

Your word in Proverbs 7 inspired 2 poems this time, Lord. The first one is called A Wise, Understanding Family because of Your urging to make wisdom and understanding family. The second one is called Walking Through Your Pages because I love walking through the pages of Your Holy word… but especially TOGETHER! Your Holy word with you is just… 😦

A Wise, Understanding Family

Wisdom, you are my sister.
God has said we’re family.
I am to trust Your words.
I am to trust Your whispers.
I am to heed Your shoutings.
I am to seek and trust You.

Understanding,
You are my kinswoman.
I am to follow your lead.
I am to trust you to keep me.
I am to accept you as family.
Because in God’s eyes
You are! ❤

Wise Understanding,
Oh how I need You,
to keep me from flattery,
to keep me from self-destruction,
to keep me from falling into a snare,
bound for hell.

Lord, I seek. I call on.
And I trust through Your faith
in wisdom, understanding.
We are all one family.
Your family.

Walking Through Your Pages

Walking through your pages, I see
Why God says to trust you and call you family.
You bring wisdom.
You bring knowledge.
You bring understanding.
You bring so much more than I could imagine.
How powerful is your influence.
How influential is your power.
You reveal, expose, and unveil
All that has evil intention against.
Flattery doesn’t get past you.
Help me to walk with you as often as God allows.
Help me to pay attention… and listen.
Help me to always trust what God gives you for me.
Help me to always trust your best for me.

  1. To quote a common phrase…….wise men still seek HIM! May we continually ask the Spirit for the wisdom we need to navigate this difficult world. HIS wisdom is ALWAYS right and spot on! It never fails. Hope you are doing well sweet GAIL. I love your love for our LORD JESUS!
