Gifts 2017 #8 Rain

Christmas Countdown: Rain is a GIFT. Of course we do not wish for flooding or heavy storms, but God is kind enough to send what is at times a much needed blessing. I love the hymn…  There Shall Be Showers of Blessing

There Shall Be Showers of Blessing
lyrics by Daniel W. Whittle

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead

Chorus

There shall be showers of blessing,
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

Chorus

There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor Thy Word.

Chorus

There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

Chorus

There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

Chorus

  1. Beautiful words! I’ve had some disappointments today but knowing and you kindly reminding me of God’s grace blessing me with showers is lovely and calming. I started writing a letter to the Lord today to release my burdens, fears and anxieties and let his will be done for the benefit of myself, my husband and our future together. We’re moving but I’m still unemployed. I’m quite scared, but I speak to Jesus every day, give thanks to what and who I have and trust him that we’ll be alright. Thank you for your wonderful words. My heart gladdens. 😍

    1. I am so sorry about your disappointments, Ava. Praise the Lord for your “choosing” to follow and trust. I know that is amazingly hard when stricken with fear and anxiety. I am praying for you and your husband. I praise His Holy name for using His whispers to comfort your heart. ❤ Me and God love you!
